L/XL Solid Moose Antler
This listing is for one L/XL Solid Moose Antler. These are solid moose antlers that weigh less than the monster size. They will be less than 3/4 pound each. They are thick, dense, and durable.
Moose antlers are naturally shed and have no additives! The antlers are not treated with any products, and are therefore a healthy, organic treat! Antlers are a great source of calcium, protein, iron, potassium, and zinc. Antlers are long lasting, stain free, and should not splinter! Antlers help with boredom, clean teeth, and support proper gum health! All chews are from naturally shed moose and are hand-picked.
The antlers are from moose which is the softest of the antler options in terms of density/hardness (with elk antlers being harder, and deer antlers harder still). As such, moose antlers are a great choice for softer chewing dogs and older dogs. Moose are not a good choice for aggressive chewers unless you choose a large cut!
Please choose size appropriate for your dog!
Dogs have different chewing needs, therefore you need to choose the right type of antler, cut, and size for your dog. Split antlers have marrow exposed, therefore they do not last as long as unsplit antlers. While whole unsplit antlers are a better choice for the longest lasting chew, some dogs are more enticed by the marrow and aren't interested in an antler that is unsplit. The 1/4 split has the most exposed marrow and is best for dogs who are softer chewers, have sensitive teeth/gums, or are older. Quarter split antlers will not hold up to aggressive chewing dogs. Half split antlers will hold up to more aggressive chewing, however the most aggressive chewers should have whole unsplit antlers. If you have a selection question, please reach out!
NOTE:
As with all chews, you should supervise your dog while they are chewing an antler. The antler should not splinter, though very small pieces may be shed during chewing. Be sure to dispose of the antler when it gets to a size that your dog could possibly swallow and choke on!
